Melissa Joakim is a lighting and projection designer, scenographer and stage manager in Toronto, Canada. She holds a BFA Specialized Honours from York University.

​

She has won a Dora Mavor Moore Award in Scenic Design, and has been nominated in Outstanding Lighting Design as well as  for the Pauline McGibbon Award. 

​

Melissa has toured Internationally and across Canada. She is proficient in programming Qlab, Isadora, Modul8 and Max 7. She is an animator building in Adobe Suite, Synthetik Studio and by hand-drawing.

Biography

She is skilled in photography and videography, as well as green screen shooting and editing. She is able to program live video feeds, multiple surface projection mapping, interactive video, and Midi-operation and generation.

Melissa plays in post-punk band Processor, ambient group No Colour Blue, and solo compositions under the name Saturn City. She has a strong interest in avant-garde music and literature.
